Well, time for another monologue...
I recently stumbled across a rather interesting new topic: THE LARGE HADRON COLLIDER. It's the world's most expensive experiment, and could very well be the end of it. Doom and Gloom yes, but freakin cool!
The Large Hardon Collider is a giant particle accelerator: a 17-mile-long tunnel beneath Switzerland and France. With it, scientists hope to isolate the Higgs boson, the particle that could explain mass. Some worry that the Hardon Collider is too big and could create a black hole that would destroy Earth.

ok. let me just put this out there, I am in no way and will never be a "treky" I don't dress up and go to "conventions", rubber band my ears in likeness of spock around the office, speak klingon, or own a wookie suit (ya I know - star wars, star trek, what's the difference?)...I just like those little interesting morsels of science that in no way my little right-sided brain could ever comprehend...and the idea of a giant DOOOOOOOOOMS DAY machine (repeat previous statement with evil James Mason voice) just thrills me.

Cody, this morning the newspaper had an article on the proposed 20 mile tunnel to shoot some partical at another to see what would happen. I felt so smart when I saw the headline, because I had already heard of the Hardon Collider. If I remember correctly, the article was about something the Chinese were planning to do. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
