GIANTS!
So...our Giants are actually leading their bracket! 3.5 games ahead of the Rockies right now. Anyone wanna make a friendly bet as to how long they will be able to hold their lead? I think that they will stay ahead until June 30th - an arbitrarily picked date but none-the-less will be correct. Any takers? I would even be willing to wage one See's Candy box - closest to predicting when Giants lose the lead (if ever) winner redeems at Family Reunion. (NOTE - does not count if Giants lose lead then re-gain)

Now I think we need some clarification herel. What do you mean "does not count if Giants lose lead then re-gain? All bets are then off?" Also, how long can we wait to submit our date? Til they are 1/2 game ahead?
I write this on a night they lost miserably to the Marlins. My estimate last night would have been a different one, I can tell you.
And what size See's candy box?
Ok ok ok. Rules:
Bet is for the date that the Giants first slip out of first place in their bracket. Should they slip out of first then jump back in, the date that they first lost the lead is the date we count.
Bets must be submitted by...tomorrow? June 26th. Noon. Pacific Standard Time. (arbitrary again but anyway)
1 pound box at stake. Might just be me and you Grandma!
As much as I'd like to jump in, baseball just isn't my game. Now, when August rolls around we can start a pool about who stays in the basement longer - 49ers or Panthers.
But until then, sports to me is feigning interest in NASCAR. The Coca Cola 600 is this weekend. Trevor Bayne goes to my church, so he's as good a guy to root for as anyone. But he's been out since April with some kind of illness, so he's given his seat to Ricky Stenhouse. They're both kids, so it's rooting for an underdog, but what the heck.
I'm going to take June 16th as the date the Giants lose first place. So I suppose each of the losers has to send a box of See's to the one winner, right?
Sorry I haven't responded to this. Just as I started thinking about it came that horrible night when 3 players were injured. The last of these was the young star catcher Buster Posey. He was trying to block the plate to keep the runner from scoring, they collided, and he tore 2 ligaments and broke the main bone in his leg. He doesn' expect to be back in the lineup this season. That somehow took the fun out of things.
So I will throw in June 13. How good of you to provide the prize for the winner, Emily!
