Who's on worst?
I got to thinking this morning - here we are half way through April, and I am still using flannel sheets on my bed! The weather forecast for the Bay Area this morning told me I will be needing them again this week. What is your current weather complaint?
Well...I actually had to turn on my heater here at school, which is a problem because it is an old heater on a portable classroom and reeks of mildew. Gross. This means I have to air out the classroom - thus making it colder inside!
If you watch the news you'd know we've been surrounded by some horrendous storms. We drove through a monstrous storm front on the way down to New Orleans a couple weeks ago. That was the one that dropped tornadoes outside Raleigh (about 150 miles NE of Charlotte).
Fortunately the recent storms in St. Louis, Georgia and Alabama have left Charlotte unharmed.
I'm pretty well insured and I'd like to sell the house anyway, so if they come this way I'm not too bothered.
I have a friend who did a bike ride to the beach on Thursday (about 100 miles). They had a 10 mph tailwind (plus gusts) all the way down. On Sunday they checked the weather and found out the wind was just as strong but had reversed. So they rode about halfway back as well.
Aside from that, Spring is quickly becoming Summer here. I've used my A/C several times recently.
Have we actually lowered ourselves to talking about the weather?

OK, there's one. Anyone else got a comment? Or maybe a solution? Would anyone accept "learn to love the smell of mildew"?

See, that is what I couldn't help but think. The weather? Really? Aren't there any dead terrorists we could chat about or anything?
