And he's off...

Good luck to Ol' Man Kulka this weekend as he takes on the MS charity ride once again. If he makes it through the grueling 150 mile ride, I promise to run 1/4 mile.

Uphill or down?

For the record, I did accomplish the 150 miles. It was actually about 157 if I recall correctly. I had been off my training for about three weeks before, due circumstances outside my control. So I was expecting disaster. I spent some quiet time with God and a handful of aspirins each day before the ride, and it went quite well. I finished strongly the first day, and survived the second day pretty well too.

I've been meaning to a) send thank you's to all who donated to MS on my behalf and b) post a short write-up on the high points of the ride.

What with the flood, the house is sort of upside down, and my desk is in even worse shape than usual. But I do intend to get those notes out. Really.

A quarter mile? Okay, but you have to run it backwards, across campus, balancing an egg on a spoon, wearing a hot pink T-shirt that says "My dad can out-ride your dad."

Yes, and barefoot.

I tried to point out earlier that I cannot fathom how one can go uphil both ways. What a talented young woman you are, Ashley!
