Hello everyone - in case anyone is interested, I just opened a "flickr" account. In case some of you don't know what that is - flickr is being called the "photographic revolution" when it comes to photographers networking and sharing their work with the world. Anyone can join - and as a matter a fact - it's free! It's a great way to share your photos with everyone you know, all the while avoiding the pain of emailing them out to individuals. The great thing is too, if you like any the photos -you can simply download or drag them to your desktop - high res and everything - free! It's so awesome. I highly recommend that we all open up flickr accounts so we can share or photographic lives with eachother. Or we could even open a "Kulka" flickr photo account. Anyways - here is the link to mine and emily's:

(side note - you don't have to be a member to view the photos - which is great too - it's completely open to the public, unless you mark the pictures private - in which they will can only be accessed via password.)
Enjoy!

Hey, Cody.
I took a look at your pictures! There were some places I recognized. I had to study one of the Golden Gate Bridge for a while because I had never seen it taken from that area before. It was good to be able to look at your work. Let us know when you add more pictures, will you?
I think that is a great idea. You guys are very cute together and one or both of you is a great photographer. I'd like to see a Kulka page for this thing too. I started one up, and I couldn't find a lot of pictures because my hard drive crashed recently, but these are some from the past year or so. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7329662@N06/
Why thank you for the compliment - photography is one of my favorite things and I love getting the chance to share my work with you all! I'm stoked that you put up a flickr site that quickly! I'll save it in my links.
Ashley, I love your swimming pictures. The one of you diving and your butterfly are great action shots.
Cody, I really enjoy your photography too. "Emily? Did you have another fall?" had me chuckling in my chair. I very much liked the little Asian girl in the pink outfit. She has a very Asian face and a very Western outfit. The contrast is fun. The black and white portrait of Emily is also very good. It's very warm -- elegant but also natural. Nice job, mister.
As a photographer, I have an eye for composing pictures for eBay auctions, but that's where it stops. I have a knack for catching people with their worst expressions and landscapes where later on I don't know what I was thinking. Later this week I'll try to find a few pictures to throw on flickr. If nothing else, maybe a few of our family just so we can put a face with the name.
BTW, the Golden Gate picture? I can tell you without hesitation that it's going Northbound right after you cross under the toll plaza. And it's been over 15 years since I did that commute.
You can sure tell who got to work in Marin and who had to commute to SF for several years.
Okay, one more thing before I go back to work. This is for all of those people whose pictures are named DSC_001, DSC_002, etc.
To rename a bunch of pictures at once:
1. Open the folder where you've saved your pictures. Select a batch of pictures to rename.
2. Right-click the first picture selected and then click Rename.
3. Rename the first picture to whatever you like (for example, Boston Vacation), then click any empty space within the window to deselect the pictures.
Your pictures automatically rename themselves ("Boston Vacation (1)," "Boston Vacation (2)," etc.).
[I work in Windows. Mac people will have to translate or experiment.]
By the way, Cody, you know that I had seen many of those pictures when you were here, which is why I neglected to comment on them - I had already told you the ones I especially liked. The one of the shadows on our deck is still one of my favorites. And I was pleased to see one with both of you looking so good together - who took that one?
Ok I need a little credit here - Cody was the driver on on the Golden Gate, making yours truely the photographer. Now, in all fairness, Cody is the photographer of the family, but I get a good one in now and then!
Also - to Uncle Matt - although I have racked up more visits across the Richmond/San Jose Bridge, I feel like I commute there sometimes - I figure I have been accross that bridge literally about 80-100 times in my life! not bad for someone who lives in Southern Ca!
Dear Eesmall,
I can understand that you feel the bridge is yours, having gone across it so many times. However, I don't think that gives you permission to move it. It used to go from Richmond to San Rafael, you know.
Emily looks great. The photos are great.I didn't think that "Cody and Emily shot them".Pretty good, pretty boy and girl.
You got me there. I still lay some claim to it though!
OK, I'll give you that ugly hump in the middle.
Akulka, thanks for adding your pictures. I especially liked the diving one, and your close-ups. Want to explain who the young man with you is?
Yes,
The young man is the boyfriend of one of my roommates, and a friend of mine. Quite a nice guy.
Alright, the rest of you slackers need to put up pictures.
